Our Commitment to Creating Better Communities for All
Thrive Alliance has been serving your community for decades. We have witnessed many events over our time of community service, yet none of these events can compare to the world we are living in today. We are with you living in an economy that has been changed forever by a pandemic like none of us have ever seen. We are with you watching current events unfold without the words to describe our lack of understanding. We are with you as we try to fight for a country where all communities are welcoming and inviting to all members of society.
Reports and statistics show that our society disproportionately places people of color and immigrants at a disadvantage through income disparities, and lack of access to quality healthcare, affordable nutritious food, and quality affordable housing. While many communities have become more aware and more integrated, black citizens and people of color continue to face astronomical hurdles that make it difficult to fully thrive in a community where they feel welcomed, wanted, and needed. This is the legacy of systemic racism and societal biases. Thrive Alliance’s mission has always been and remains to support ALL people so they can live high-quality independent lives.
While many people are just now recognizing the need to stand up for all citizens, Thrive Alliance has been here offering supports and services to our underserved community members for many years. We have provided caregiving and medical supports to the aging and disabled populations. We have provided nutritional supports to those who otherwise would not have a hot meal. We have helped rebuild neighborhoods by repairing and removing blighted homes. We have offered reduced rental rates for those who otherwise would not have a home. Thrive Alliance has dedicated countless hours to support those who are often forgotten or dismissed by societal and cultural biases, because we do not forget.
We do not forget that we need to act to build a community that fully embraces all community members. We do not forget that we need to voice that racism and social inequity are not acceptable. We do not forget that all people have value. We do not forget that the best way to stand up for our community members is to take an active role in building up our communities.
We will no longer stand by passively. We commit to examining our agency mission, goals, and services to eliminate biases and serve our communities equitably. We commit to vocally advocating for change in our communities. We will support policies and agendas that remove the systemic biases and barriers that are in the path of so many. We will give voice against the injustices of our society and ensure all people are given value. We will align our agency with agendas and missions that ensure all community members can thrive. We will continue our work to build livable communities where all individuals are welcomed and supported.

Thrive Alliance ha estado sirviendo a su comunidad durante décadas. Hemos presenciado muchos eventos durante nuestro tiempo de servicio comunitario, pero ninguno de estos eventos puede compararse con el mundo en el que vivimos actualmente. Estamos con usted viviendo en una economía que ha sido cambiada para siempre por una pandemia como ninguno de nosotros había visto antes. Estamos con usted viendo cómo se desarrollan los eventos actuales sin encontrar palabras que describan nuestra falta de comprensión. Estamos con usted mientras intentamos luchar por un país donde todas las comunidades sean acogedoras e invitantes a todos los miembros de la sociedad.
Los informes y estadísticas muestran que nuestra sociedad coloca desproporcionadamente a las personas de color y a los inmigrantes en desventaja debido a las disparidades económicas de ingresos y a la falta de acceso a servicios de salud de calidad, alimentos nutritivos y viviendas de calidad a precios razonables. Si bien muchas comunidades se han vuelto más conscientes e integradas, los ciudadanos afroamericanos y las personas de color continúan enfrentando obstáculos astronómicos que les dificultan prosperar plenamente en una comunidad donde se sientan bienvenidos, queridos y necesitados. Este es el legado del racismo sistémico y los prejuicios sociales. La misión de Thrive Alliance siempre ha sido y sigue siendo apoyar a TODAS las personas para que puedan vivir vidas independientes de alta calidad.
Si bien muchas personas justo ahora reconocen la necesidad de defender a todos los ciudadanos, Thrive Alliance ha estado ofreciendo apoyo y servicios a los miembros desatendidos de nuestra comunidad durante muchos años. Hemos brindado cuidados y apoyo médico a la población de personas mayores y discapacitados. Hemos brindado apoyo nutricional a aquellos que de otro modo no tendrían una comida caliente. Hemos ayudado a reconstruir vecindarios reparando y eliminando casas arruinadas. Hemos estado ofreciendo pagos de renta a bajo costo para aquellas personas que de otra forma no tendrían una vivienda. Thrive Alliance ha dedicado innumerables horas para apoyar a aquellos que a menudo son olvidados o despedidos por prejuicios sociales y culturales, porque nosotros no lo olvidamos.
No olvidamos que tenemos que actuar para construir una comunidad que acepte con los brazos abiertos a todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad. No olvidamos que necesitamos expresar que el racismo y la injusticia social no son aceptables. No olvidamos que todas las personas tienen valor. No olvidamos que la mejor forma de defender a los miembros de nuestra comunidad es asumiendo un papel activo en la construcción de nuestras comunidades.
