Janie & Wilma:
Janie was born in Young America, Indiana. She has very literally lived all over our country’s map through her years with stays in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Arkansas. Janie was happily married for 57 years. She still loves to travel today, particularly to spend time at the beach. Janie has worked at Five & Dime, Dairy Queen, and school cafeterias throughout her career. She chose Columbus as her home five years ago. At the time of her most recent relocation, she chose to move into a Thrive Alliance-managed age-restricted property, where she can be close to her adult daughter, Wilma. Mom and daughter are very supportive of each other and are grateful to be neighbors within the same apartment building. When asked what advice she likes to share with her four children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild (with a second on the way), Janie, without hesitation, shared, “Be thankful for every day you have and love everybody around you.”
Wilma was born in Indianapolis. Wilma enjoys her family, particularly her nine (soon to be 10) nieces and nephews. Wilma spent a career in service to others as a CNA in the Noblesville area. She is active in her church and continues to seek opportunities to be of service. Wilma cherishes having her mother nearby, so that she can help her when needed. Mom is quick to point out that she is still mom and their relationship is very much a two-way street, while adding she is grateful for all Wilma does for her. Wilma feels the world would be a better place if everyone would simply “enjoy life together.”
